BIOGRAPHY
I'm currently working on the PersOn project led by Barbara Konat at LEAP (Laboratory of Everyday Argumentation and Persuasion), aiming to develop a new Cognitive-Computational Pragmatic Model of Persuasion specifically designed for the social media environment. My main task is to aid the implementation of the project's theoretical side, specifically related to pragmatic theory and the cognitive aspects of human communication.
The title of my doctoral thesis is "The Role of Pragmatic Competence and Ostensive Communication in Language". It is a paper-based dissertation composed of some of the main publications and manuscripts produced during my academic career. The central topics are pragmatic competence and ostensive communication. Main research question: whether basic pragmatic competence for ostensive communication relies on high-level cognitive processes unique to humans or if lower-level processes are sufficient. The introduction outlines the aims of the research, including examining the role of pragmatic competence and ostensive communication in language, proposing a model of ostensive communication anchored in low-level processes, and summarizing the contents of the publications.

GRANTS
- I got a grant for the TRAINCREASE project ("Microtwinning"), an international project, in cooperation between the University of Warsaw and Aarhus University (Denmark. The project is supervised by the senior researcher, Prof. Kristian Tylén). I will participate in a project that will result in an experimental semiotic study, currently entitled: "Emergence of ostensive communication: an experimental semiotic computer game with human and artificial players". This study will culminate in a paper, as part of my PhD project, on ostensive communication (2022)
